Dr. Hafiz Boboyorov ist war von 2022 bis 2023 als wissenschaftlicher Mittarbeiter im Ignaz-Goldziher-Programm für jüdisch-muslimische Studien am Dubnow-Institut tätig. Seit 2023 ist er assoziierter Forscher am Dubnow-Institut.

Studium der tadschikischen (persischen) Philologie an der Tadschikischen Nationaluniversität, Duschanbe und der Philosophie und Sozialwissenschaften an der Nationalen Akademie der Wissenschaften von Tadschikistan, Duschanbe. Von 2006 bis 2011 Doktorand an der Philosophischen Fakultät sowie am Center for Development Research (ZEF) der Universität Bonn; Thema der Dissertation: »Kinship and Islam: The Role of Collective Identities in Shaping Institutional Order of Patronage in Southern Tajikistan«. Von 2011 bis 2013 Postdoktorand im Forschungsprojekt »Epistemic Cultures and Local Governance of Agricultural Knowledge in Post-Soviet Tajikistan and Georgia« am Center for Development Research der Universität Bonn. Von 2015 bis 2016 Postdoktorand im Forschungsprojekt »Local Security-Making in Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan: The Production of Securityscapes by Everyday Practices« am Bonn International Center for Conflict Studies (BICC).
