Yechiel Weizman hat eine Tenure-Track-Position im Bereich Holocaustforschung am The Department of Jewish History and Contemporary Jewry der Bar Ilan University inne und ist zudem assoziierter Wissenschaftler des Dubnow-Instituts. Von 2019 bis 2020 war er Stipendiat am Dubnow-Institut, gefördert von der Minerva Stiftung.

Studium der Philosophie und Jüdischen Geschichte an der Hebräischen Universität Jerusalem; MA in Kulturwissenschaften 2013 ebendort. Thema der Masterarbeit: »The Synagogue, the Cemetery and the Empty Chair. Polish-Jewish Memory Work in Poland, 2000–2012«. Von 2013 bis 2018 Doktorand an der Universität Haifa. Promotion zum Dr. phil. 2018 an der Universität Haifa. Thema der Dissertation: »Ambivalent Presence. The Material Jewish Remnants in Poland, 1945–1989«. Von 2007 bis 2014 arbeitete er an der International School for Holocaust Studies in Yad Vashem als Berater und Fortbildner für Lehrkräfte.
