Dr. Yechiel Weizman
Tenure-track position in Holocaust Studies at The Department of Jewish History and Contemporary Jewry at Bar Ilan University and Affiliated Researcher of the Dubnow Institute. From 2019 to 2020 working at the Dubnow Institute as a Research Associate, funded by the Minerva Stiftung.
Studied Philosophy and Jewish History at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and completed his MA degree in Culture Studies in 2013. Title of Master’s thesis: »The Synagogue, the Cemetery and the Empty Chair. Polish-Jewish Memory Work in Poland, 2000–2012«. Doctoral Candidate between 2013 and 2018 at the University of Haifa; subject of PhD thesis: »Ambivalent Presence. The Material Jewish Remnants in Poland, 1945–1989«. From 2007 until 2014 worked at the international school for Holocaust Studies in Yad Vashem, as a counselor and teacher trainer.
