The documentary film »1341 Frames of Love and War« It portrays the artist, who was born in Berlin in 1930 and grew up in Ulm. His family fled to Palestine in 1936. Here he accompanied the development of his country photographically and thus became one of Israel's most important chroniclers. He was a picture correspondent for »Magnum« as well as a senior photographer for the New York Times.

The film shows Bar-Am and his wife, the artist Orna, looking at their personal archive of photographs and contact sheets. The film not only chronologically traces the photojournalist's biography, woven into the history of Israel, but also episodically, like memories that appear and fade. Thus, on a meta-level, he poses the question of what images trigger and effect. In 2022, the film celebrated its world premiere at the Berlinale. It will be shown for the first time in Leipzig.
