Sichtbarkeit jüdischen Lebens

The second issue is dedicated to the visibility of Jewish life and focuses on four main topics: Kippah, architecture, society and communities. These areas represent central fields of everyday Jewish culture, but little is known about them. The second issue places them in their historical context and conveys multi-perspective knowledge. It also includes the consequences of October 7, 2023 for Jewish life in Germany.

The topical textbook is available free of charge in Open Access. On the project website you find an online view of the booklet, the individual chapters for download as well as all multimedia content and additional materials.

The thematic issue is part of the cooperative project »Turning Object into Subject. Communicating Jewish Everyday Culture in Germany,« funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
