The Underground Archive of the Warsaw Ghetto

Talk with Andrea Löw on 18 April, 5 p.m. at the Dubnow Institute, Leipzig

On the eve of the 81st anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, Andrea Löw (Center for Holocaust Studies at the Institute of Contemporary History in Munich) will present the contents of the so-called Ringelblum Archive and the potential of its sources for research, education and remembrance in a introductory lecture. Afterwards, in a discussion with Monika Heinemann and Julia Roos (both Dubnow Institute, Leipzig), she will explore the question of why it is relevant to ask about the history of the origin and transmission of documents, including photographs, and what perspectives this unique collection opens up.

An event in the accompanying program of the exhibition »The Determining Gaze. Images of Jewish Life in Postwar Poland«, which will be on display at the Dubnow Institute until the end of 2025.
