Instructor of Russian Studies at Dalhousie University and affiliated Researcher at the Dubnow Institute; worked at the Dubnow Institute as a Research Associate from 2020 to 2023.

Studied Russian Language and Literature and Jewish Studies at the University of Toronto and completed his MA degree in 2012. Doctoral Candidate between 2013 and 2020 at Stanford University. Dissertation topic: »The Uncensored Man: Leonid Tsypkin, Russian Writer and Soviet Jew (1926–1982)«. From 2011 until 2012 worked at the University of Toronto as a Teaching Assistant and Research Assistance on the project »Soviet Samizdat Periodicals« and from 2013 until 2020 at Stanford University as instructor of Russian language and literature, and as archivist at Stanford University Libraries.
