Bilanz einer Begegnung

What and how is »Jewish«? Who are the »others«?  And who is actually exhibiting whom here? In the special exhibition »Ausgestopft und Ausgestellt?« (Stuffed and Exhibited?) at the GRASSI Museum für Völkerkunde zu Leipzig, ethnological and Jewish museums will meet from July 2023 to January 2024.

In a panel discussion, Felicitas Heimann-Jelinek and Hannes Sulzenbacher, who curated the exhibition on behalf of the Jewish Museum Hohenems, and Léontine Meijer-van Mensch, director of the GRASSI Museum, will take stock of the situation: Has the attempt at an encounter been successful, were the museums able to learn from each other, where were the pitfalls and breaking points? And what do the museum guests have to say about it?
