Volume 3 (2005)
Leipzig Studies Volume 3
Editorial team: Markus Kirchhoff, Monika Heinker
In the »Leipzig Studies on Jewish History and Culture«, fundamental questions of the history of European Jewries are put up for discussion in case studies and individual examinations. The highlight of this year's volume is the printed version of the »Simon Dubnow Lecture«, in which Walter Laquer draws a portrait of the generation born around 1920 that was expelled in 1933. His contribution is a focal point of the entire volume: In addition to this collective biographical study, works on the history of science, sociology and psychoanalysis as well as a contribution on the beginning of exile research after 1945 are presented. Essays on art, culture and literary impact make up another thematic area in this volume. In addition, current research projects on jewish encyclopaedias and the history of Holocaust perception in the discourse of arab intellectuals are presented.
