Jahrbuch des Simon-Dubnow-Instituts/Simon Dubnow Institute Yearbook

Yearbook: Volume 11, 2012

One of the focal points of the »Simon Dubnow Institute Yearbook«2012 is the illumination of Gustav Mahler’s life, work, and legacy within a broader cultural and sociopolitical context, in commemoration of the hundredth anniversary of this Jewish-born composer’s death. Another focal point lies on early Jewish research on the Holocaust, which has begun to be seen in a very different light in recent years. These topics are augmented with contributions on political as well as legal history, cultural restoration, and the critique of postmodern philosophy. The specialized categories focus on the work of Günther Anders, Shmuel Josef Agnon, and Lea Goldberg, the language question in Simon Dubnow’s thinking, and the participation of Jewish anarchists in the Bavarian Soviet Republic in 1919.
