Volume 17 (2018)
Jahrbuch des Dubnow-Instituts/Dubnow Institute Yearbook
The »Dubnow Institute Yearbook« 2018 comprises two focal points: The first examines questions of lived realities and individual self-conceptions in the tense relationship between socialism and Jewish heritage in order to chart new approaches to the history of Jews in the GDR beyond »prescribed antifascism«. The second reports on current research being conducted in archives and private collections in Israel, presenting various aspects of recently rediscovered lines of tradition in German-Jewish history. The general section and specialized sections include contributions on Jewish literary, political, philosophical, and economic history.
