Insights into the Jacob Toury Estate
Numerous personal references, notes, inserts and dedications have been preserved in the book collection of Jacob Toury's estate library. As part of a student project at Leipzig University and HTWK Leipzig, an initial review of the more than 1,000 books was carried out. On this website, photographs provide an initial visual insight into the extensive collection. The works were viewed and categorised by Franziska Weigold. The photos and accompanying texts were designed and edited by Yehuda Krause.
Library Catalogue of the Dubnow Institute
The library collections can be researched through the K10plus-Verbundkatalog of the German universities and institutes for higher education as well as the Leibniz Institutes, the Helmholtz Centers, the Max Planck Institutes, and the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation.
The collection includes such rare and valuable books as »Ma’ase Tuvija«(The Work of Tuvija), a Hebrew scholarly compendium of the early Haskala printed in Jeßnitz in 1721, which was penned by the Jewish doctor Tuvija Hacohen, one of the first Jewish students of the University of Frankfurt (Oder).
