»Herkunft zu ermitteln. Das Depositum der Israelitischen Religionsgemeinde in der UB Leipzig«

Cabinet exhibition in the Bibliotheca Albertina

The cabinet exhibition »Herkunft zu ermitteln« provides a first insight into the preservation and research of the library of the Jewish Community of Leipzig. This is made up of old holdings of the Leipzig Jewish community as well as holdings of very different provenances and contains hundreds of prints, the oldest of which date back to the 16th century. Their provenance has been determined since this year as part of a research and cataloging project. The presentation is in conjunction with the exhibition »Übersetzte Religion«; it can be viewed free of charge daily between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. at the Bibliotheca Albertina until 13 February 2022.

The exhibition will be accompanied by the interdisciplinary lecture series »The Search for Traces«.
